Hiking

One of the most popular activities in the Phoenix area is hiking and biking. Explore trails that are very close including Silly Mountain right off I-60, Peralta, Lost Goldmine, and Carney Springs trailheads in the Superstition Mountains. Gold Canyon Arts Festival

Arizona Renaissance Festival

Apache Leap Mining Festival

​The Apache Leap Mining Festival and Carnival is an annual event held in Superior, Arizona (just a 20 minute drive east from Gold Canyon) in late March celebrating the town’s rich mining heritage. Held annually in August, the Prickly Pear Festival celebrates the local flora with a variety of activities, including a pancake breakfast featuring prickly pear syrup, cooking demonstrations, and educational talks about the uses of the prickly pear cactus.
